A Kiss of Blood Adiobook starts off not long after the end of A Blood Seduction. Quinn and her brother, Zach, are back in the real world of DC. Zach isn’t doing well. Not only is there a lot of depression going on (he feels he isn’t a man because he could protect the two women, Quinn and his friend Lily, who is still in Vamp City). Zach is also suffering from “magic sickness”. He seems to be tied to Vamp City for some reason. He tried to flee DC back to his parents in Philly and got really sick.

Quinn knows that she is going to have to go back to Vamp City to save her brother from the sickness that is killing him. That fact isn’t more clear than when there are people banging and breaking down her door to get to her. If it weren’t for the fact that Arturo had lied and was able to travel back and forth, she might not have been able to survive.

This trip back to Vamp City isn’t nearly as dark as the first one. Yes, the vampire there are still evil, but I think it is because we just don’t see as much of it. I think a large part of that is we spend a lot of time with some vampires and humans who run an underground railroad of sorts, so you see much more humanity in this book. We do learn that just because a vampire is a pleasure feeder, doesn’t mean that they aren’t as sadistic as the fear and pain feeders. Here we also get to meet up with fae and the werewolves.

This story is told mostly from Arturo and Quinn’s point of view, though we do see Lily and her progress on occasion. The relationship between Arturo and Quinn continue to build. Arturo is a much different vampire in this book. He has seemed to have grown a conscience. I don’t know how I feel about this complete 180 in his actions. Can one woman really change a several hundred year old vampire’s loyal and conscience? I’m really excited to see how this story ends. I know the final book is out, but I’m hoping that it will also be on audio (know news as of this posting).

A Kiss of Blood Audiobook Narration

3.5 Hearts

I think Rebecca Estrella fit much with this book. The story was less dark, so I felt her voice fit better. I enjoy her narration, I just didn’t think she fit well with the extreme darkness of the first book. Since this was a softer book, it didn’t bother me as much. Since I haven’t read the final book in this series, I have no idea how dark it will get. Either way, I would prefer to listen, as it is just so much easier for me.

Pamela PalmerPamela Palmer grew up in an Air Force household as her father was an Air Force pilot. She dreamed of being an astronaut as a child. She graduated Auburn University with a degree in Industrial Engineering and began working for a major computer manufacturer. She eventually turned to writing after having married and given birth to two children. She has also written under the name Pamela Montgomerie. As Montgomerie she writes historical time travel romance novels, while as using her real name, Palmer, she writes dark paranormal romance.

Rebecca Estrella is a native Midwesterner, voice artist, and voracious literary enthusiast. She has extensive experience in the performing arts, having spent much of the last two decades onstage and in front of a microphone. Rebecca’s voice work ranges from session singing to radio, with steamy narration being by far her favorite. Her love of her work is evidenced in her rich and melodic narration. When not at work in the studio, she can often be found engrossed in a novel in the comfort of her own home.
