Professor Gabriel Emerson has left his position at the University of Toronto to embark on a new life with his beloved Julianne. Together, he’s confident that they can face any challenge. And he’s eager to become a father.

But Julianne’s graduate program threatens Gabriel’s plans, as the pressures of being a student become all-consuming. When she is given the honor of presenting an academic lecture at Oxford, Gabriel is forced to confront Julianne about the subject of her presentation – research that conflicts with his own. And in Oxford, several individuals from their past appear, including an old nemesis intent on humiliating Julia and exposing one of Gabriel’s darkest secrets.

In an effort to confront his remaining demons, Gabriel begins a quest to discover more about his biological parents, beginning a chain of events that has startling repercussions for himself, Julianne, and his hope of having a family.

My Thoughts

Gabriel’s Redemption audiobook is the conclusion of Gabriel’s Inferno, a series originally written as a fan fiction, and later published as a series.

This is the story of the handsome, intriguing and dark professor, Gabriel Emerson, and his taboo romance with one of his students; A beautiful and smart 17 year-old, Julia Mitchell.

I have to admit, I wasn’t totally in-love with book one, you can read my review HERE, but I really started  to enjoy the series with book 2, Gabriel’s Rapture.
Without giving any spoilers, I can tell you how much more I enjoyed the characters and their story since.
The events that brought them apart were full of emotional angst, that paired with the beautiful descriptions changed my mind  and my feelings about my overall take on the Gabriel’s Inferno series.

I was wondering how Mr. Reynard was going to make this book interesting after the ending in book two, but just as in real life, challenging moments are always around the corner.
Once again, under his impeccable and almost poetic style of writing,  Mr.Reynard  brings us through a continuation that without its challenging  and menacing moments delivers a happy ending for Gabriel and Julia, one worth every minute of  their journey,  and a great payoff for the differences they had to overcome.

Just like the other books, Mr. Raynard seduces us into the story, and in the end you are left with a high admiration for his style of writing, one that I original thought pompous, and over pretentious.

My only complaint is Julia’s moments of weakness. I’m so used to heroines that know what they want, and how to get it, where their vulnerabilities only makes them relatable, but never week or annoying. I had to keep putting myself in Julia’s shoes so I wouldn’t  get so aggravated by some of  her actions. Don’t get me wrong, she’s not a damsel in distress; she’s very smart and has plenty  of moments of self assurance, after all, she has brought the powerful and strong professor, Gabriel Emerson to his knees. I guess sometimes is hard to relate to the reactions of a young girl.

With that said, I LOVED their love story. It is romantic, beautiful, touching, sexy (no big sex scenes) passionate, and everything a big romance story should be.

If you like challenging characters in a smart beautifully written story, where love, and the finest things in life are center stage, then Gabriel’s Inferno series is for you.

Gabriel’s Redemption Audiobook Narration

by John Morgan

John Morgan Garbriel's Inferno Narrator

I can’t remember another character more perfectly depicted in an audiobook than Gabriel Emerson. Oh Boy! John Morgan nailed his personality. I loved how he made every aspect come to life; his self assurance, his virility and his arrogance were perfectly captured, at the same time he delivers a three dimensional  character that reveals his vulnerabilities, and his capacity to love.

Now,  for Julia, I can only say he was OK. I think most of my complaints of Julia’s actions have a lot to do  with his interpretation of her character……Maybe, a little too unsure?
If a book ever demanded a female and male narrator, this was it; nevertheless his performance of the rest of the novel is amazing. It’s almost as if you are listening to a book of poetry. He truly did justice to the style of writing of Mr. Reynard.

And just as the author, John Morgan seduces and lures you into the story with his deep, soothing and beautiful sounding voice.
All in all,  this is a beautiful audiobook (audiobooks) amazingly performed.
