So this is the second book in the Blood Brothers series. It is a spinoff of the Sin Brothers series. While, I think you can read Blood Brothers without having read Sin Brothers, I think starting with the original series would be helpful in understanding the villains and world Rebecca Zanetti has created. If you do decide to start with this series, I do recommend starting with book one, Deadly Silence. The suspense from book one is carried on into this story.

So the Blood Brothers (aka Lost Boys) are a group of genetic enhanced boys that grew up together in a boys’ home. While they are not related, the formed a bond that is thicker than blood. They carry the scar to remind them of the oath they all took to become blood brothers for life.

These boys are now all grown up and are running a PI Firm. This helps to fund them while they search for Sheriff Cobb and Dr. Isobel Madison. They’ve been helping an FBI agent in searching for a serial killer known as the Copper Killer, for his love of redheads.

Anya has been getting pictures and messages from the Copper Killer from the beginning. She called in her sister, Loretta, who’s also an FBI agent, to help her. However, Loretta is taken by the serial killer and eventually she turns up dead. Anya is now out for revenge. She throws herself out there as bait and outs Heath at the same time. Now the Blood Brothers are on the run, not just from the serial killer, but also need to find some place where Dr. Madison and Sheriff Cobb won’t find them.

This was another fun story in this series. My favorite part of this series are the characters. I just love all the characters in this series (and the original series, Sin Brothers). Rebecca Zanetti writes characters that I truly love and care about. I stress when I think they are in danger. I’m sad when they’re sad. I even love the villains (or at least I love to hate the villains in this series).

The suspense is another thing that I love about this series. I love the mix of action scenes along with the build up suspense that Zanetti is able to write for these books. She puts these brothers into some really tight spots. Even with their enhanced abilities, she doesn’t make things easy for them.

While I enjoyed the romance, it isn’t the best part of this book. It isn’t that I don’t like the romance between Anya and Heath, it’s just that the amazing characters and suspense overrides the romance part of the story (at least for me). I love how Heath and Anya come together and their strength together, even as things are dangerous for both of them.

Lethal Lies Audiobook Narration

I love Karen White’s narration of this series. She picks great voices for the different characters. Like how she voices Dr. Madison, who sees everyone as a scientific experiment. That woman is a sociopath. One of her soldiers, Daniel, is a completely different type of crazy that she does a good job with too. She is the voices of this series for me.
