Tangled Audiobook

Drew Evans is handsome and arrogant, he makes multimillion dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu. But we all know that’s not really true.
Katherine Brooks is brilliant, beautiful and ambitious. When Kate is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
Tangled is not your mother’s romance audiobook. It is an outrageous, passionate, witty narrative about a man who knows a lot about women…just not as much as he thinks. As he tells his story, Drew learns the one thing he never wanted in life, is the only thing he can’t live without.

My Thoughts

I bought the Audiobook Tangled a long time ago, and I have no idea why it took me so long to listen to it.

This is one of the few books that has plenty of reviews on audible, and although I agree with all the positive reviews, I wanted to share my experience.

We all think we know how men think, but to have it confirmed in a one-sided conversation by the arrogant, “I’m all that and a bag of chips,” I get what I want when I want it, and there’s no woman that can resist my smile, Drew Evans – was a sheer pleasure!

The enjoyment I got from having Drew take me through his romantic endeavor was such a pleasant surprise. I can’t tell you enough how big of a grin I had on my face while I was listening to this book. There is nothing extraordinary or deep in his story, yet it was everything a good romance tale should be; sweet, sexy, sarcastic, funny, hot, but most of all, downright entertaining.

I loved Drew, I loved Kate (the heroine) and I loved their story.

So if you haven’t had a chance to listen to Tangled, I highly suggest it! Let Drew Evans (a true player) tell you how his playboy ways came to a screeching stop when finally, love came knocking on his bachelor’s pad door.

I couldn’t find an image of Sebastian, but I did find this nice interview by Emma Chase of this terrific narrator.

Review

Sebastian York just made my list of favorite narrators.

I love this man’s voice! His voice is sexy, soothing, deep, and everything you expect an overachiever playboy to sound like.

I don’t know how much I would have liked Tangled  if I had read instead. I don’t want to take anything away from the author here, after all she created and crafted the story, but is just that I loved so much Sebastain’s interpretation of Drew, and I got a feeling I going to love all of his interpretations.

His portrayal of Drew was perfect, right on! How easy the wrong tone would have sent me to the wrong side of this story. It’s not easy listening to a guy tell you how hot, smart and sexy he is, or  how he can have any woman he wants, without thinking “this guy is a jerk!” But Sebastian beautifully brought him to life in a manner that made him sound likable by conveying how Drew beyond his words didn’t take himself  seriously.

Excellent pace and approach.

And, oh boy! He’s got the romance gene!

His voice transitions were great, I always knew who was talking. I didn’t have a problem with Kate’s voice. He did a good job with her interpretation too.

All in all, Sebastian York made  the Audiobook Tangled a fabulous 8 hours of listening entertainment. My fist audiobook by Mr. York, but you can bet It won’t be my last

  1. GAH. This is another book that I’m dying to read. I need more time, LOL. Well, all I can do is make sure it’s actually on my kindle, so the next time I need a break from paranormal, or just want some contemporary, it will be there, staring me in the face. That’s my plan, and I’m sticking to it 😉 Hopefully it won’t take too much longer for me to get to it, and I’ll love it as much as you did. *wishes and hopes*

    • I was so sure that you had already read this one. I felt like I was the last romance fan to read it.
I hope is just (I’m sure it’s) good of an experience when read. I’ll come running to check your review 🙂 I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

  3. I liked this book. I liked it a lot, but I wasn’t that impressed by book two. Not the writing, the misunderstanding just seemed way out there. I’ll be interested to know what you think!

    • Oh I know! I wanted to download the following book right away, but I read the reviews and I saw a lot peeps were disappointed, not with writing, but with the events. I want this happy feeling to last me for a while, so I’ll wait a little before I read the next one. Maybe I’ll just jump to Tamed 🙂

  4. Tangled’s audiobook has a special place in my heart. This is actually my 2nd attempt to try audiobooks again. The first was World War Z but I kept falling asleep so I decided that audiobook is not for me. Until 6-7 months later when I decided that I should give it another shot and try a book I already love in audio. And it was amazing, Sebastian York’s voice is so sexy and it just gave me a different experience of a character and a book I fell in love with when I first read it. I mean sometimes I want to kick Drew in the balls but I do admire his honesty!

I’m so glad you lived this too! Awesome review <3 And I trued searching for Sebastian York too but he's really sneaky! There are no pics of him anywhere!

    • I can totally see why. I think Sebastian could read me War and Peace and I would be sorry when it end it..LOL I thought the male point of view was really well done, specially by a woman.
Drew is a hoot! I love him 🙂

  5. I absolutely adore this series! Drew makes me laugh so hard I cry. I read large parts of this aloud to my hubby since he wanted to know what was causing me to giggle and snort. I cannot wait to devour the third book. It releases on July 14. Tangled actually made my top ten list for the year. I think in 2013.

    • I hear you! This was truly and enjoyable listen. I’m glad reading has the same effect. I imagine that if I read it first I would have been nervous about the audio, hoping that it was a good interpretation, which totally is 🙂 I have to take another look at that list. I know I got some real treasures out there already 🙂 I don’t know how I missed this one!

  7. One of these days your reviews are going to make me jump on the contemporary romance bandwagon. It’s not like I need any more titles on my TBR, but you just make them sound so gosh darned appealing! Does Sebastian York narrate any paranormal audios? I’ll have to check seeing how he made your list of top performers.

  8. OMG, how had you not read/heard this one yet? I read the book last year before it got published by S&S and loved it. I was hoping it would be released on audio and Sebastian York was my only choice to play Drew. I was freaking excited when I found out he was and heard my copy right away. He really nailed Drew’s voice!
So happy you liked this one too 🙂

  10. I’m planning to read this and the next one back to back next week. We’ll see if I actually can do it as I’m not feeling good today. I love the sound of this one though, reminds me of AClayton’s books plus as it’s told in the male POV is a winner!

    • I hope you enjoy it too! I haven’t read/listen to the next one yet. You know, it reminded me a little of Girls Love Travis Walker, but a lot more adult and a lot less drama. This guy is rich and our poor Travis 🙁 well you know. BTW I really enjoyed that book! Thank you 🙂

  11. Added to the wish list! I find the concept of having this story told by the male protagonist’s POV fascinating, add a sexy narration and I’m sold! I’ll have to admit I probably would never pick this up on my own but that’s why I love my blogging friends, you introduce me to new and smexy reads! <3

  14. Oh it must be nice to have a voice like that I confess. I heard so many great things about this book and I confess that I’m quite curious! I’m glad you had a good time with it.

  15. I actually finished listening to this last week! It took me about two seconds to get used to Drew’s extra deep voice (it didn’t sound like that in my head when I read it lol) but soon I found it perfect. I still feel the same about the story: absolutely nothing new or unique about it but Drew’s inner voice is awesome.
