4 Hearts

This is the first in a spinoff series from the Beechwood Harbor Mysteries. This one follows Scarlet, a human that can see ghosts. She doesn’t know why she can see ghosts, but when her cat died when she was nine years old, she has been able to see her cat’s ghost ever since. And she started to see more ghosts as she got older, but her cat is still her constant companion. Oh, and the cat, Flapjack, can speak to Scarlet and the other supernatural people in Beechwood Harbor.

In this book, Scarlet is just trying to keep her florist shop open and her ghost support group going. That is until a ghost comes in and starts screaming and threatening her. This ghost was powerful enough to break the store’s glass door. There is a film crew in town doing a renovation show on a older house that has been said to be haunted.

Scarlet has to try to help this ghost that is very upset at the renovations in the house. But she can’t just tell the crew to stop filming. They won’t listen to her. So she tries to find out more about the ghost’s story and try to help her move on.

This was a fun spinoff series. We still get a little bit of the characters from the original series, but mostly, it is all new characters. Gwen is the largest character from the original series in this series. She wasn’t a big character in the original series, but she is really fun in this one. Gwen is a hippy ghost. I can’t wait for more adventures with Scarlet.

The Ghost Hunter Next Door Audiobook Narration

I’m so glad that they kept Amanda Ronconi for the narration of this spinoff series. She does such a great job with all the voices and characters. So many different characters, including voicing a ghost cat. If you’ve never listened to Amanda Ronconi, you’re missing out.

From a young age, Danielle Garrett was obsessed with fantastic places and the stories set in them. As a lifelong bookworm, she’s gone on hundreds of adventures through the eyes of wizards, princesses, elves, and some rather wonderful everyday people as well.

Danielle now lives in Oregon and while she travels as often as possible, she wouldn’t call anywhere else home. She shares her life with her husband and their house full of animals, and when not writing, spends her time being a house servant for three extremely spoiled cats.
