I arch into him, drinking in his passion, instantly, willingly consumed by all that he is and could be to me.

Sara McMillan is still searching for Rebecca, the mysterious woman whose dark, erotic journal entries both enthralled and frightened her. Tormented by a strong desire to indulge the demands of her new boss while also drawn deeper into her passionate bond with the troubled artist Chris Merit, Sara must face a past as deeply haunting as Rebecca’s written words. In one man’s arms, Sara will find the safe haven to reveal her most intimate secrets and explore her darkest fantasies. But is safety just an illusion, when the truth about Rebecca has yet to be discovered?

My Thoughts

Being Me immediately takes off where we were interrupted in If IWere You, and without hesitation the ride begins, and what a ride it is!! Kudos! to Ms. Jones for her ability to create a skillfully written, dark, sexy,  and super HOT story that wrapped around in an incredible and a super exciting aura of mystery makes Being Me an an engrossing read, and  one that will tickle all your emotions.

It’s hard to say anything about the story without giving any spoilers, so I won’t, I’ll stick to my opinion of the character’s development (which BTW, It’s simply excellent), the feeling of the story, and the rocking level of its sensuality.

It’s hard to manage to have the reader at the edge of their seats with suspense and at the same time feeling touched by the emotional turmoil, all while the deeply arousing sensuality of the novel plays with your senses, but Oh boy! Ms. Jones cleverly weaves all the elements to do just that in Being Me.

While we get a lot advancement in Sara and Chir’s relationship, we also get clued into how   much healing our tortured hero needs to undergo, and it won’t be easy (easy it’s not fun), this gives the novel the emotional factor that brings us closer to understanding the motivations behind their actions.

To say that a lot happens and gets revealed in this book is an understatement, but the fun part is theorizing at every turn of events and putting 2 and 2 together before the answers are given to you – maybe you’ll figure out, maybe you won’t, but once thing is for sure, you’ll find yourself totally captivated by the process and the story in general.

All in all, this is a fantastic continuation of the trilogy, and one that has propelled Ms. Jones to my auto buy list.

I also re-visited on audio the day of its release… And yeah! I liked the audiobook just as much!

I like to thank Ms. Renee Jones for providing me with the ARC (print) of Being Me, in exchange for my honest opinion.

I purchased the audiobook version myself.

P.S. Rebecca’s Journals are a must read, and the perfect complement to this trilogy. (Not available on audio as of right now).

Narrator

Grace Grant

Once again Grace Grant excellent interpretation of the story and its characters make the second entry to the trilogy and all around winner.
She has kept the characterizations with consistency; however, she has injected Sara and Chri’s characters with the growth they have undergone in this installment.
The mystery thickens a little bit more, and Grace Grant skillfully delivers the mood of the novel. Once again she does a fantastic job at keeping the sensuality real and authentic.
Her pace and tone are right on target; her differentiations of voices are clear. Her male voices are adequate and believable – they never interfere with your enjoyment.
All in all, this is a very good performance, and one that is sure to transport you to the setting without any distractions.
