John Doe has been a part of this series from the beginning. He also had a large part in the previous book with Griffin, as he was an oath brother to Griffin. But we still didn’t know much about this shifter. He goes by the name John Doe, because you can’t say his name in human form. Sea dragons are an elusive group of shifters. They don’t come out on land often. They are big on honor, or at least that is what they say.

Neridia Small just wants to be like every other woman. But at six foot and six inches tall, she stands taller than most men and that has made dating difficult for her. This story starts out with her going on date with someone from one of those matching sites. She fudges just the one number on her profile (people do that all the time, right?). She also arrived early, so that she could be sitting down when the man arrives. Things start off pretty well, until she stands up and that’s where things go all wrong for her.

This was another great addition to the series. I really enjoyed learning more about John Doe and his species. I really liked his sister. Neridia was a great addition to this group as well. She is a strong woman, who has had it hard with the loss of both of her parents recently. There are quite a few things that happen to her in this book too.

I continue to enjoy this series and look forward to more books that follow these firefighters of Essex County.

Firefighter Sea Dragon Audiobook Narration

4 Hearts

I continue to enjoy Lucy River’s narration of this series. I love all the different accents that she is forced to do for this series. In this book, she had all the different sea creatures that must be voiced, many of which are speaking mind to mind. It was very clear when they were talking mind to mind versus speaking out loud (which can sometime be hard on audio, since in print they usually italicize those parts, but if the narrator doesn’t change something, it can be hard for the listener, but that isn’t the case here).

Author: Zoe Chant

Zoe Chant loves writing paranormal romance. Over a cup of tea (or something stronger) she whips up sexy tales of hunky heroes and adventurous heroines to tantalize and satisfy her readers. Sizzling hot romance, no cliffhangers!

I’m Melanie and I live in Ohio. I have two horses and a dog. I’m an animal lover, avid book reader and audiobook listener. I like to live vicariously through fictional characters. I enjoy reading and listening to mostly fictional books in the paranormal genre, including Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Horror. My favorite paranormal creatures are shifters, doesn’t matter the flavor.

  1. Wow Melanie a Sea Dragon shifter, how cool is that! I need more time, I want this LOL 😉

    • I know, right? This series has so many unique shifter species. I’ve really enjoyed them.

    • It was great reading about a sea shifter. You don’t see too many of those.

  2. Oh man, yeah, she does have it hard what with grieving and hoping to find a guy who can appreciate tall, strong women. Love that you get to know the mysterious John better. Fun take on shifters, too.

    • This series is a fun take on shifters. So many unique shifter species.

  3. The whole concept of Friefighters & Rescue people being shifter sounds very cool also. Anne – Books of My Heart

  4. This sounds like a cool series. Interesting how the narrator was able to make it very clear when speech was mind to mind versus verbal. I haven’t listened to her before but she sounds like a great narrator.

  5. Firefighter dragons? Now that’s definitely a new one for me. I hadn’t heard of this series before but I think I might have read something by the author. Sounds really different and also the narrator differentiating all those voices sounds pretty great too!

  6. This series is already on my wishlist. No thanks to you. Glad this was another good one.

  7. Sea dragons?! Cool concept. Sounds great. Thanks!

    • Yeah, you don’t see that much. Usually the heroine is extra short.

  8. I think I’m going to need these. The narration sounds like it was a real nice job.

    • I really like Lucy Rivers. She was one of our winners for the Sultry Listeners Awards.
