Dragon Point is a spin off series from Bitten Point, which is a spin off from Kodiak Point series. While all the series are lightly connected, they can each be read without having read the series prior to it. If you want to read the stories in chronological order, you should start with Kodiak Point. Read those five books (and a Christmas novella that is really fun), then tackle Bitten Point and then Dragon Point. Again, you can read them completely separate from each other too.

The big difference in this story is that Dragon Point isn’t a place like Kodiak Point and Bitten Point. This is a dragon society. Dragons have kept themselves hidden. Even the shifters don’t realize that dragons exist. There are many different septs of dragon. They are broken out by color. Our heroine is part of the silver sept. There are many other septs including red, blue, yellow, etc. There are even stories about a gold sept, which would be the most powerful, if they weren’t extinct. They each have their own territories.

This story starts off with Brandon, who we meet in Bitten Point. He was born a gator shifter, however, his uncle experimented on him and changed him into a lizard man with wings. He’s been on the run for a few years. He originally went along with his uncle’s plans because his uncle has his little sister. But finally escaped. Now he is trying to find his sister so he can rescue her.

He stumbles upon Aimi. She must mate or be forced to live with her overbearing mother forever. The rules that dragons set up to try to increase their numbers since the Middle Ages require that females must mate and reproduce with good dragon stock. Aimi and her twin sister have less than a year to find a mate. However, there are more female dragons than males. Her mother wants her to just find a man that she can mate, not for love, but for babies, just like the mother had.

So this is exactly what I expected from an Eve Langlais book. It had stubborn women and men with more than their fair share of snark. The heroine has crazy family members. There is a ton of humor. I loved the new dragon world that she’s created within the shifter world of the previous two series. I’m excited to see more book in this series. I want to see more of these dragons. And lastly, you must try this series because DRAGONS!! πŸ˜€

Becoming Dragon Narration

3.5 Hearts

Chandra Skyye is again the narrator of this series. She’s also narrated the Kodiak Point and Bitten Point series (as well as Eve’s Sci-Fi series Space Gypsy Chronicles). While she isn’t my favorite narrator, I’ve gotten used to her. She does an okay job. The voices of the book are different, however, she doesn’t have a wide range of voices, so new characters in a book will sound like a different character in a previous book.

Author Eve LanglaisHello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane…with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.

I’m Melanie and I live in Ohio. I have two horses and a dog. I’m an animal lover, avid book reader and audiobook listener. I like to live vicariously through fictional characters. I enjoy reading and listening to mostly fictional books in the paranormal genre, including Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Horror. My favorite paranormal creatures are shifters, doesn’t matter the flavor.

  1. I have this one for audiobook review, so I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it. Bummer that it’s not a knock out narrator, but I’m sure I’ll get used to her too. I didn’t realize it was a spin off, so hopefully I don’t feel like I’m missing anything. Sounds like I should be okay, though I do enjoy having those connections.

    • You’ll be fine. Each series is a story of itself. I hope you enjoy it. The narrator is okay. It took me a little bit to get used to her.

  2. With so many spin offs, I feel like a top! haha.

    • There are a lot of spinoffs, but each series can be read without the others. They are all set in the same world.

  3. I cant even think of the last time I read a dragon shifter book. It’s been awhile. Sounds like a fun series. Thanks for the heads up.

    • You can never have too many dragon books. I think I have three series right now. This one, Dragon Kin by G.A. Aiken and Heartstriker by Rachel Aaron. They are all really fun.

  4. I’m so far behind and haven’t started the Bitten Point series yet. But dragons… I like the sound of her dragon world.

  5. That is where I am with Chandra. I don’t love her (oh sometimes she is really good with certain characters but her male voices drive me batty sometimes) but I have gotten used to her πŸ™‚

    • She’s okay. I would never go looking for stuff by her, but I can handle her. I wish Eve had narrators like Amanda Ronconi or Johanna Parker that are great at bringing out the snark.

  6. A gator shifter is one I haven’t read about yet! Sounds fun. Glad you enjoyed this so much!!

    • Eve has so many fun shifters. Bitten Point is almost all reptiles. I love that she does shifters that others don’t tackle.

  7. So many of her books are on my TBR, just need to get around to them. I can see why you love the author’s writing style now at least lol And dragons?! I NEED more dragon books in my life hehe

    • She is hard to keep up with. She writes so fast and has such a large back list. I can’t seem to keep up.

  8. Your reviews on Langlais’ stories serioulsy make me want to binge all of her books and having listened to Pirate and Sinner didn’t help matters much either lol.

    • She is so much fun. I highly recommend the “Welcome to Hell” series. It is my favorite.

  9. Big props to Langlais’ muse, Eve just keeps churning these fun stories and the spin-offs just keeps coming. Major skills!

    Happy Friday, Mel

    • She writes so many fun stories and so quickly that I can barely keep up. She’s pretty amazing.

  10. This world sounds fun. It’s been a while since I read a good dragon book. I love that other shifters don’t know about them and the different sects sound fun.

  11. I’m looking forward to reading this. You already know I’m loving her books and this sounds like another good one.

  12. Eve is doing Dragons!!! How awesome is that?!?! I still need to get to my Kodiak book that I had signed waaaaaaay back when. Oh, those silly physical books that get left behind. So sad… I hope Aimi was able to mate with Brandon b/c that kind of stinks what happened to him.

    • It’s easy to forget about those physical books when you have so many on a ereader. I hope you get a chance to try one of them.

  13. I am impressed by how many series this author has written and they all sound fun. That’s interesting this is a spin-off from a spin-off. Sounds fun for those who follow the series from the start and nice for those new that they can start anywhere. Glad to hear this was a good one and had what you expect from this author. Great review!

    • Yeah, you can pick up any of the series, but I do recommend starting with the first book of a series. There is an overall story arc for each setting.

  14. I’m just wondering if this has dragons in it? πŸ˜‰ Yes, you know that would get to me and make me want to read it. I have the author on my must read list and I need to get her on the read list (or listened to). πŸ™‚

  15. I glad to know this can be read without having read those other series, Melanie, because I got this for review in audio…you know, because DRAGONS! πŸ˜‰ Skyye isn’t my favorite narrator either and I’ll have to keep that in mind when I think about future Langlais books in audio. Happy you enjoyed this one!

    • Skyye isn’t horrible, but she isn’t a narrator I will be hunting for. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this. It is great that Eve finally decided to tackle DRAGONS. πŸ™‚

  16. Oo dragons. I’m in! She has great sassy snark πŸ™‚

    • You can’t go wrong with Eve’s snark and dragons in one book. πŸ™‚
