If you know me, you know that I rarely read blurbs for books in a series that I know I want to keep reading. So I was very caught by surprise when I found out that Nox and Alex/Charli were our hero and heroine in this book too. I’m so not sad about that, because I really loved both of them. I was very interested to see where things went, after how things ended in the previous book. Im going to keep things vague, because I don’t want to spill any spoilers.

This story picks up exactly where Betrayal left off. Their dynamics have changed. Nox is a different man with different rules in this new relationship. Alex is trying desperately to find out how she fits into this relationship without giving up her dream.

One thing I really loved about this story is really watching Alex and Nox get to know each other. In the first book, they are on a one week “blind date” with tons of romance and sex. They were both playing at this with no real commitment and didn’t even share personal information. Now things are different and they must learn each other, their actual personalities (and not just the ones they pretended to be during their fantasy week), their families and how their lives will fit together.

Both Alex and Nox come from very rich families that are both overbearing to their children. Both of them want to have their own lives and do what is best for them, not just for a family legacy. Their parents have something completely different in mind. Also, imagine the surprise when both Nox and Alex find out that their families have had dealings in the past.

This book is another great installment in the Infidelity series. I have no idea where the story will go from here. I don’t know if Alex and Nox will continue to be the main two characters for the entire series (I really want to find out as I go, even though the entire series has been released). So far, this series has kept me on my toes and chomping at the bit to get more.

Cunning Audiobook Narration

4 Hearts

In the first book, pretty much the entire story was from Alex’s POV, so Samantha Prescott did almost the entire narration. Brian Pallino didn’t come into it until the very end. In this book, the narration was much more balanced between the two narrators. I really enjoyed both of them. I think they both did all the things you expect from a good narration, pace, tone, voices for both males and females. I really hope that we have them for the entire series.

Iโ€™m Melanie and I live in Ohio. I have two horses and a dog. Iโ€™m an animal lover, avid book reader and audiobook listener. I like to live vicariously through fictional characters. I enjoy reading and listening to mostly fictional books in the paranormal genre, including Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Horror. My favorite paranormal creatures are shifters, doesnโ€™t matter the flavor.

  1. I only read the first book, I love it because of the unique twist it offered to a tired trope, but I’m personally tired of romances.
    Lol
I drag my feet when reading romances you’d think someone is asking me to read Latin! But it’s Romig, someday I’ll probably return to this and finish the series

    • It is a romance…but it’s five books of family saga, suspense, intrigue…it’s more. I hope you’ll give it a try.

    • It is a really fun series. There is suspense, but not so much in the action way, like a lot of Romantic Suspense stories. This is more like trying to figure out where the story is going. Maybe more mystery-ish. I had a really hard time with trying to figure out what sub-genre to put it in, hence I just went with romance.

    • I’ve really enjoyed this series. It is a romance, but the story goes for more than one book, instead of a different couple for each book. I’m very interested to see where this goes next.

  2. Neat that you got a follow-up story in the next book. Sounds like it really needed to be told to show how they settle into a long-term situation.

I’m glad you got more of a balanced narration from both perspectives, too.

    • Yeah, I wasn’t expecting another book with these two characters. It is just something you really don’t see with romance. I really liked it. I can’t wait to see where the next book goes.

  3. It’s nice to see that the series continues to be good. I’m not sure I’ve heard about it because the name doesn’t ring a bell but maybe I should keep in mind for later

    • I sat in on a panel with her at RT15. I hadn’t really heard much from her before that. She has been on my TBR ever since. I haven’t seen a ton of reviews for her stuff before Kimberly at Caffeinated Book Reviewers reviewed her “The Light” series, which was amazing. I’m now working my way through her stuff.

  4. Sounds like this is a great series and yay for those nice surprises that authors throw at us from time to time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • It is not a book that I would’ve picked up based on the cover. If I hadn’t already read and really enjoyed this author, I never would’ve grabbed this series. So far, I’m loving it though.

  5. If I remember rigth, when you reviewed the first book it wasn’t all about infertility, so I would be willing to give this a go. I know so many are turned off by cheating, but I am always interested to read about it when it hits the gray areas.

  6. Ya know I loved her suspense thriller. You do have me curious about this series even if these same couple series make me want to run away..lol
