Panther’s Claim Audiobook

4 Hearts

I loved my trip back to Bitten Point. This trip there are still shifters that are coming up missing. Cynthia has come to town to try to find her friend. She’s a wolf, but she doesn’t like to shift in front of others. She’s very self-conscious with how her wolf looks. We don’t find out why until almost the end of the book.

Daryl is quite the player and the panther in this book. He sees no reason to settle down with a single woman. That is until he accidently marks Cynthia. He had no intention of doing that, did he? He offers to help Cyn search for her friend. He is in complete denial about his feelings for Cyn for most of the book. He so doesn’t want to give up his bachelor life.

I don’t feel like we’ve learned a whole lot about what is going on in the town with the disappearances. They keep running into weird smelling shifters who have weird collars on them. They continue to find these shifters on two legs instead of four.

We do have Constantine and Princess helping in the search (it will be great to get to their book next). I swear there is something up with that dog. I hope we learn more about her. Caleb was also around to help with the search.

There are two real winners in this book. One is that we have opening in each chapter similar to Charley Davidson. Some of those were hilarious.

Daryl’s T-shirt of the day, “I’m a ray of fucking sunshine”.

Constantine’s Shirt, a gift from Daryl: “If my chihuahua doesn’t like you, than neither will I.”

The second is the parents. Both sets of parents are so pushy and involved. I had a lot of fun listening to them.

Cynthia: So thanks for letting Daryl and I have some time alone last night. We managed get a few things talked out.
Mom: So he proposed?
Cynthia: NO!
Mom: Why not?

Panther’s Claim Narration

3 Hearts

Once again, I’ve enjoyed listening to the narration. I think Chandra Skyye continues to get better with each book. In this one, she had to do a latino accent of Daryl’s mother, which I thought she handled really well. I think she did great with all the males and female voices. I have come to enjoy her narrations of the books.

Author Eve LanglaisHello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane…with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.

I’m Melanie and I live in Ohio. I have two horses and a dog. I’m an animal lover, avid book reader and audiobook listener. I like to live vicariously through fictional characters. I enjoy reading and listening to mostly fictional books in the paranormal genre, including Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Horror. My favorite paranormal creatures are shifters, doesn’t matter the flavor.

  1. Great review and another that’s a low series number, sounds good thanks Melanie

    • This has been a fun series so far. It is a spin off of the Kodiak Point series, but you can read this one without haven’t read the first one. I do recommend starting with book one of this series though. The mystery about the weird shifters seems to be following the entire series. The romance is new for each book.

  2. Thanks for the review. I need to pick this one up. I enjoyed Croc’s Return and am curious about the mystery on these new shifters as well as the love story’s. I have been hearing the same thing that we don’t get much information or plot on this new threat. Hopeful that will change. Eve does have a way of keeping her readers entertained.

    • I’m really excited for Constantine’s book coming up next. I can’t wait to see where she goes with it. I’m sure she will get the entire mystery told soon.

      • I’m sure she will tell the entire mystery. I also love the dog.. The third books going to be fun. ^_^

  3. Hmm, the mystery with the smelly shifters didn’t get much closure. I am curious about this series though and glad you liked it

    • I think she plans to string the mystery across the entire series, just like she did to me with the Kodiak Point series. That is okay. I can deal with it. She keeps us entertain and a great story with each romance.

  4. This sounds like a fun listen!Starting the chapter with the shirts does remind me of Charley Davidson lol

    • It wasn’t always shirts and bumper stickers. Sometimes it was text messages between Cyn and her mother. Those were great too. It was really the parents that stole the show in this book. πŸ™‚

  5. Oh I’m looking forward to this one πŸ™‚ Narrating with an accent would be so hard I would think. The one I’m reading now has a british character and whew. I love listening to that though πŸ™‚

    • Some narrators are better at accents than others. I do love it when a narrator nails an accent.

  6. Can’t wait to get to this one, I have it to review on audio but got some ahead of it I should do first…lol. πŸ™‚

  7. I’ve only read a few of her books, not enough! I have to keep up with the “Croc and the Bear” series, that’s the one that inducted me to her hilarity.

    • Ah, the FUC series. I liked that one too. I just did it on audio. She has so many and writes so quickly. I don’t think I will ever be caught up. But then I will always have new-to-me Eve books. Yay!

  8. I was trying to catch up on older books on my shelf, but this series keeps tempting me b/c it is associated with Kodiak Point which I loved. Can’t wait.

Now I really want to know what the deal is with her wolf. πŸ˜‰

    • I’ve been working on her back list too. She has so many series. πŸ™‚

  9. I need more Langlais books in my life, Melanie! Panther’s Claim sounds fabulous, and your review made me want to read it (or listen to it) right now!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts πŸ™‚

    • I always need more Langlais books in my life too. I hope you get a chance to try this series. I’ve really enjoyed it so far. I’m really excited for the next one. A Python with a serious crush on his pet chihuahua. It will be interesting to see how the mate fits in. πŸ™‚

  10. Now I am curious about why she’s so self conscious about how her wolf looks, sounds like a original plot point for a shifter book. Sounds like a good addition to the series.

    • I was very curious about that too up until she finally shifted. Eve’s books are all very original.

  11. I have a lot of Eve Langlais books sitting on my kindle screaming at me to pick them up. I think once I finish the Others series I’ll stop ignoring them and read them lol. Thanks for your thoughts.

    • Her books are hilarious. She has so many series and I’m in the middle of many of them. I hope you enjoy them.

  12. I’m curious about this one as well. I don’t think I’ve read a panther shifter book before. Definitely one to consider!

    • Eve writes a lot of shifter types that I’ve not read anywhere else. She does crocs and the next one is a python. πŸ™‚

    • Aren’t those great? Eve has some great quotable quotes from her books.

  13. Panther’s Claim sounds like a book that I could totally see myself loving. I need to pick this series up one of these days. Great review, Melanie! I love this kind of paranormal romance πŸ™‚

    • Eve Langlais is one of my favorite PNR authors. Her books always make me laugh.

  14. This just sounds like nothing but fun. I love shifter books so you didn’t have to sell me there… but the questioning about the dog really has me curious. Oh I hope my library has these!

    • Don’t forget, you can always request the purchase if they don’t. I’m always asking my library to buy books for me. I don’t always get all of them, but I get a lot of them. I hope you get a chance to try these. Start with book one, Croc’s Return.

  15. Glad to see you enjoyed this one. I’m thinking about starting the series with this book since it appeals the most to me.

    • There are some aspects of the villain, you might miss, but I think you’ll probably catch up pretty quick. I hope you enjoy it. I’m really excited for the next one.
