The Audiobook Challenge is back for 2016! Join Hot Listens for the 4th year of great audio books.

I hope all those new and old junkies can join us once again for The 2016 Audiobook Challenge.
Listening is never been better, thanks to the popularity of Audiobooks just about everything is being published on audio…YAY!
There has never been a better time for reading with our ears 🙂

I have to remember to add my link to the final post, it goes live on Saturday. This past year, I listened to 32 audiobooks! I am planning on Binge listener again this year. Wish me luck.
Good luck. Can’t wait to see what listens you find.
I listened to 170 books so far this year! I’ve recorded them all on Goodreads, and some books did not list an audio or Audible version. But I didn’t read any of them. I’m psyched! I’m definitely in the marathon category for 2016!
170 is great. Yes, Goodreads doesn’t have all the books listed in a good audio format. I like to have the square image and the narrator listed, but they don’t always have them. Great job. Can’t wait for next year.
Holy cow, 170. WOW
Hehe I know I’ll be signing up again for 2016. I think I’ve done 30 or so this year so far!
30 isn’t bad. Can’t wait to see what you find in 2016. Great listening.
Officially signed up for 30+. Definitely going to aim for 40 or so since I hit 30s in 2015.
Yay, so glad this is up now…not that I was getting impatient or anything…hehehe. 🙂 Can’t wait to start my challenges again. 🙂
Glad to have you back. 🙂
Hi, I’m in again. Got 30 this year, will try for the same next year. Can’t wait!
Glad to have you back. Good luck.
Maybe 2016 is the year that I’ll get into Audio. With my crafting and work demands, audio is the best way to go. If only I can get into it more! I get so distracted easily and end up going back and going back!
I recommend starting with a book that you’ve already read and loved. I started listening as revisiting books. If you miss something, it isn’t a big deal, because you already know the story. Good luck
My start up post will go live January 1st. I linked to it, but won’t work till then. I did 51 in 2015 and will go for 50 again 🙂
Sounds great! Can’t wait to see what book you pick. You always have a great selection.
I’ve listened to 47 this year and I’m pretty shocked by that number! It seems like a lot! 🙂 I’ll go for the My Precious level for 2016 but maybe I’ll be bumping that up to over 50!
Good luck with the increased number. I hope you find some great listens.
I’ll go for socially awkward. I’ll keep track on my GoodReads shelf and update monthly on the blog.
Sounds great. Can’t wait to see what books you pick.
YAY! I’m signing up again, even if I didn’t meet my goal this year. I have some really good ones I want to listen to, though, and having a challenge to help me keep on track is great.
Great to have you again, Lexxie. Can’t wait to see what books you pick.
CANNOT WAIT! I’m listening to a book right now! hehe!
Sorry, I’m aiming for Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) 50+ This year.
Woohoo! Glad to have you back and so many for year two.
I’m not sure that I can top my 2015 total of 66 audiobooks so far, but I’ll aim for Marathoner (Look Ma No Hands) 50+ this time. I’m looking forward to more potentially great reads for next year to help me make my 2016 GoodReads challenge and the 2016 Audiobook challenge. Happy listening everyone!
66 is a great number. Glad to have you back for 2016. Happy listening. 🙂
I don’t have a bog and will keep my list on Goodreads and also a board on Pinterest. I listen to YouTube all day at work and have run out of stuff to listen to, so I a, excited about this challenge. I plan to be a Marathoner. My goal is 52 but will probably surpass that goal. Thanks for hosting the challenge .
Great to have you Vicki. Blogs are not required. I love listening while working and doing chores. Happy listening.
I’m thinking of joining this challenge. I really need to get back to exercising and there’s nothing better than listening to a book on the dreadmill or evilliptical. Well, music is good, too, but I prefer a book. If I join the challenge maybe my motivation will get a kick in the ass. Win-win, right? 😀
That sounds like a great idea. I love dreadmill or evilliptical. I find that I will stay on my dreadmill (hehe) longer if I’m listening to a great book that I don’t want to stop listening to. We would love to have you join.
You could also think about joining #FitReaders with TheGeekyBlogger and That’s What I’m Talking About. It is a no pressure where we all just cheer each other on and sometimes challenge each other to do more.
I’m going to give it a shot since I “discovered” I like audiobooks this year. I’ll go with Socially Awkward 15-20. I’ll create a shelf on Goodreads or I wouldn’t know my count.
Sounds great. We love having you Anne. Goodreads is a great way to track. That is how I track mine too. 🙂
Wooo hoo I’m in again for Marathoner!
Glad to have you back for 2016. Happy listening!
I’ll be joining as a Newbie and posting on my tumblr blog. =D
Glad to have you. Can’t wait to see what great audiobooks you find. Happy listening!
I’m a romance audio junkie. I’ll give it Binge Listener a shot.
Glad to have you. Hope you find some great audiobooks. Happy listening!
Hmmmmm I signed up, as I’m posting on my post, but never added my link. In reviewing my reading for the mid year, I’ll rectify that with adding my link and updating my commitment to marathoner. I’ve already hit 32 so far.
Woohoo! Be sure to go to our semi-annual update post and enter the giveaway. We have a great prize this time around. 🙂
I’ll keep track on Goodreads. I’ve never done this before but I think I can do Marathoner!
Sounds great! Glad you could join us. Happy listening!
I’m in My Precious
Glad to have you as part of the challenge. Happy listening!
This is my first time for this challenge and I’m really excited. I started listening to audiobooks last year and now I’m addicted. I just downloaded 3 audiobooks from Overdrive so I’ll be ready to start on January 1. Thanks for hosting!!
We are so glad to have you Kathy. It is always great to have another audiobook junkie in the club. Overdrive is a great way to listen. It is a great app and you can’t beat the price. LOL. Happy listening!
I’m going for Newbie because I am a newbie to audiobooks! 🙂 I posted my Goodreads shelf for the challenge above, but I will also be on Instagram as wickedlydelicioustales.
Always glad to have new listeners. Goodreads is a great way to track. I keep track of mine that way. I use it to build by posts throughout the year. Happy listening.
I’m starting all my challenges at the lowest level and hoping to be able to get to a higher level during the year. :O)
Sounds like a plan. Happy listening!
I’m happy to have come across this challenge via Kathryn of The Book Date. I’ve been listening to audiobooks more now while knitting holiday gifts, etc.
Glad to have you start with us this year. I hope you enjoy. Here’s to a great 2016! Happy listening.
Good luck with your goals! I wish I could get into audiobooks more, I know I would get so many more books read if I could.
Thanks. I’m able to listen to 2-3 audiobooks for every book I read. I get so many more books in this way. Plus, it helps my sanity with some tedious tasks, road rage, etc.
Good luck with the challenge! I think it’s awesome to see how many bloggers already signed-up. I keep telling myself I should give audiobooks a try, but I am just not sure if they would work for me.
I love listening to them while I do other tasks, especially while driving. My road rage is much less since I started listening to audiobooks. I do know many people who can’t listen to them. I usually tell people to start of trying by revisiting a story they already love. Then if you miss something, the biggest complaint of most new listeners, you already know the story. It kinda helps you get the feel of audiobooks.
That’s a great idea for getting a feel for them. I might try that once. Indeed if I miss something at least it’s okay as I already know the story. Thanks for the tip!
I can see how listening while driving would be rgeat. I work from home and hardly travel, so I can’t imagine when I would listen to them. Maybe while cooking? I also hate earbuds, so I would need to play them on my computer.
Another great tip is making sure that it has a great narrator. The narrator can make or break the audiobook.
I am doing Weekend Warrior (I’m getting the hang of this) 5-10
I am getting ready to post my first. Will be live in about 20 minutes.
Sounds great. I hope you find some great audiobooks. Here’s to a great 2016. Happy listening!
Last year I listened to 32 books, so this year I’m going with “Binge Listener (Why read when someone can do it for you) 20-30.”
EXACTLY!! I hope you find some great audios. Happy listening.
I really am going to try to listen to more audio books this year.
I hope you find some good ones. Let me know if I can help you with recommendations. If I can’t, I can point you to someone who probably can.
I have done audiobooks before, but not much. I saw this challenge, and I figured I would take a chance and add a bit more audio to my reading diet in 2016. Since I am doing other challenges, and I am not sure how well Overdrive will work here, I am setting myself low as newbie. We’ll see.
Best, and keep on blogging.
Overdrive is a great way to get free listens from the library. I hope you find some great listens. Happy listening.
Nice to see this challenge! I managed 23 audiobooks in 2015, so I’m signing up for Binge Listener this year. Cross your fingers for me! 😉
You can do it! I hope you find some great listens. We will keep our fingers crossed.
It should be fun to work on this challenge. I’ve been listening to books almost non-stop for almost a year now. It was a way to make yard work more fun last spring. I started with Scribd.com but then they changed the subscription in August so that the $8.99 membership only gets you one book a month. Even with that I think it’s a better deal than Audible.com. I switched to Tunein.com all fall. It’s a good option for those whose library doesn’t have a good selection. There isn’t a limit on it. Thank goodness for Overdrive though. Even though my library is small it has a reciprocal agreement with a much larger library in our state. I had to travel there to get a library card but now I have a wonderful selection of audiobooks. It’s February and I’ve logged 42 books on goodreads already… I think I can safely go for marathoner.
Sounds great. So glad you could join us. I’ll have to check out Tunein.com. I love the fact that libraries are so easy. I’m able get quite a few audios from the one by my office. Happy listening!
I didn’t read all the comments so I am sorry if you already answered this…
Is there going to be a linky or something for us to put our reviews on?
Or how will you know how far we are and if we are keeping up?
We don’t do a Linky for each review, because you are allowed to count books you don’t review. We do a follow up post in June and another in December. There will be Linkys on those posts. People usually do a post about their progress. Some people list all their books, others will list their favorites, some will list just the ones that they reviewed. We’re very informal here. It’s all about fun and the love of audiobooks.
Just joined the challenge. This will be fun!
Glad to have you, Lisa. I hope you find some great audios. Happy listening.
I just signed up to this challenge and excited to get going.
We’re really excited to have you, Marie. I hope you find some great audiobooks. I can’t wait to see what audios you find. Happy listening.
I’m excited to be doing this challenge!! I use axis 360 and overdrive through my local library on my phone and I couldn’t love it more.
I’ve never used Axis 360, but I use Overdrive a lot. I would be living on the streets if I didn’t have the library to supplement my audiobook budget. I hope you find some great audiobooks.
Hi, Are you doing this again next year?
Yes. We will have the post up sometime next week.
I really enjoyed participating in this challenge. I enjoyed listening to audiobooks and finding out what others were listening to. It makes such a difference listening to a great narrator versus not such a good one, so I really enjoyed reading what people thought of different narrators. Thanks everyone!
I’m glad you enjoyed this challenge. I agree 100% that a narrator can make or break an audiobook. My list of great narrators continues to grow. I hope you find even more audiobooks and narrators in 2017. Happy New Year!
