2015 Audiobook Challenge Button

2015 has been a great year. I’ve listened to a bunch of new-to-me authors and narrators. I’ve gotten back into listening to horror and forgot how much I loved that genre. I’ve listened to more books this year than I ever have in a single year. I did only do one relisten in The Martian by Andy Weir, which I just listened to for the first time too. I also watched the movie, which wasn’t bad either.

As quickly as I’m listening to books, I’m seeing reviews from several other bloggers who are adding more to my TBR books. I love how my audio TBR is growing as fast as my reading one is. With the number of great narrators and more and more books getting made into audiobooks. What is even better, I’m seeing self published books that are getting made into audiobooks and nothing could make me happier.

As I write this, I’m at 93 audiobooks for the entire year and there is still time that I can get more in too. I can’t wait to see what all everyone else has on their wrap-up post to see if I can make my audio TBR list even longer than it currently is. Also, happy to announce that we will be co-hosting with TheBookNympho again in 2016. Don’t forget to sign-up HERE. Keep listening.

A big thanks to all who participated. We like to wish you all good luck with the final giveaway, and we’d like to extend the invitation to participate on the 2016 Audiobook Challenge.

This giveaway is open to all the 2015 challenge participants. Link your wrap-up post and enter the giveaway.

I’m Melanie and I live in Ohio. I have two horses and a dog. I’m an animal lover, avid book reader and audiobook listener. I like to live vicariously through fictional characters. I enjoy reading and listening to mostly fictional books in the paranormal genre, including Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance and Horror. My favorite paranormal creatures are shifters, doesn’t matter the flavor.

  1. I normally post on Tumblr with my wrap ups, but the GoodReads widgets are not allowing me to post, so I just linked my pinterest board with the challenge. I hope that’s ok. I have finished 90 books so far. I’m listening to a long one now, so I don’t think I’ll get over 91.

    • Linking your Pinterest is fine. 90 books are great. I hope you’ll join us for 2016.

  2. I had so much fun and will be signing up for 2016. Thanks again!!

    • It was great to have you this year. Here’s to more listening next year.

  3. Loved the challenge! 170 audiobooks so far! All recorded on Goodreads.

    • Wow, 170 is great! Goodreads is fine. I hope you’ll join us for 2016.

  4. First off 93 audiobooks listened to this year already!!?! Wow, I am impressed! Way to go, Loupe!! I aspire to listen to that many audiobooks in a year.

    • Thanks again for hosting this wonderful event!! I always have fun listening to audiobooks!!

    • I listen to a lot of books. Between listening at an increased speed and the fact that I can listen sometimes at work, I have a lot of listening time.

  5. I went from listening to 17 audiobooks in 2014 to 47 so far this year! I’m pretty pleased with myself! πŸ™‚

    • I signed up under my goodreads and twitter name of @suekitty13

    • Wow! 17 to 47. That is quite a jump. Great job. Hope you will join us for 2016

  6. I managed 52. 48 show on my post, then the last 3 Georgina Kincaid books, and Out of Control. I am listening to another now..so I am very happy with my results !

    • You had some great reads this year. I know I will be picking up a few of them in my future. I can’t wait to see what you pick in 2016.

  7. 93 crap. Even when I could listen to more at my old job I couldn’t get in that many. I can’t stand to speed my audios up. LOL

    • I started the increased speed this year. I really like it with most narrators.

  8. Done! I’m in the midst of doing a massive blog clean up too – so I linked the final page which has all the titles.
Not as many as last year – but still managed the goal.

Next year I move to the UBB tracking and will be adjusting and deciding just how many BUT – one can always adjust.

Thank you so much for this challenge!

    • I hope you enjoy the UBB plugin and tracking. Glad to have you out audiobook group.

  9. Wow, this was a fun year. I had barely listen to audio books when I started this year so I set my goal low. I was thrilled to move up two levels. I finished 28 books and might get in one more. I mostly listened to romantic suspense, but I got in a variety. My big ones were a couple Outlander series books. Whew!

Looking forward to next year’s challenge.
Thanks for putting the challenge together, ladies!

    • I’ve heard that Outlander is a great audiobook with a wonderful narrator. I haven’t tried it. I know it is a very long book and series. I hope you enjoy it. Glad you got in more audios that you expected.

  10. I didn’t reach my goal πŸ™ I only listened to six books instead of the 12 I thought I’d be able to manage. I loved those I did listen to, though, and I’ll be participating again next year. Hopefully, I’ll do better then πŸ™‚

    • I’m glad that you loved the books you were able to listen to. That is the important part, right? Hope you find more great audios next year.

      • I think I own almost 50 audiobooks that I can listen to, so I won’t have too much trouble choosing, that’s for sure!
And you’re right, enjoying the ones I got to is a big plus πŸ™‚

  11. I listened to 66 audiobooks this year, wow! I didn’t anticipate that total at all. I’m currently listening to Unforgiven by Lauren Kate. I’m positive that I’ll finish it before Dec. 31st, love the Fallen series so much! I happy to report that I only had one disappointing audiobook read that I almost gave up on many times before finally finishing it. I tried a lot of new-to-me authors via audiobook, did a couple of rereads via audiobook and discovered some new favorite narrators. So I’m definitely joining the 2016 challenge, although I’m sure I can come close to the number I reached this year.

    • I haven’t listened to any of the Lauren Kate books, but I have been eyeing them thinking about it. I know exactly how the number of books can creep up on you, but at least that is a good creep. LOL Glad to have you back for 2016. Hope you find more great new narrators and new authors. I’m hoping for the same.

  12. I’m up to 31 books this year! 14 were news books and the rest were re-listens.

I would say that The Martian was my favorite audiobook from this year.

    • The Martian was on the top of my list too. It was the only relisten I did this year. I expect a few more next year. So many series that I love and want to revisit.

  13. It’s been great seeing what everyone has been listening to. I had a lovely time doing this challenge this year. I’ll be back for 2016. πŸ™‚

    • Glad to have you back. Seeing the wrap up posts from everyone and finding great new listens is one of the things I love most about this challenge, and any challenge really.

  14. I closed out the challenge with 69, but am hoping to sneak just a few more in before the end of the year. πŸ™‚

    • That’s great. What a wonderful number to end on. LOL. Can’t wait to see what books you find next year.

  15. You did great! I did better than I thought I would. No high numbers yet. πŸ™‚

Off to sign up for next year!

    • Glad to have you back for 2016. I’m able to listen while I work on some tasks at work. Plus I can listen doing some other tasks at home, which gives me a lot of time to listen. I don’t get to read that many books. Happy listening!

  16. I wasn’t so good at coming back here to post my reviews, but I did review 24 audiobooks for 2015. Thank-you for the challenge!

    • I have the same problem with challenges, so I completely understand. I hope you found some great audiobooks. Here’s to a great 2016! Happy listening!
